Pair of Carved Oak 1900 Armchairs, Happy & Sad Faces

Hand carved of solid oak about 1900 in Scandinavia, this pair of armchairs has classic theater "Comedy" and "Tragedy" faces.

Hand stitched needlepoint upholstery is old but in very good condition, we have not attempted to clean the woolen fabric. Colors and patterns are contrasting but complimentary.

Strong and tight frames have their original finish which is in excellent condition. Waxed and buffed, only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain their warm antique patina. Springs are still firm on this comfortable European furniture.

Size is 26" wide, 28" deep, 40" tall and seats are 17" high.
