This set of eight Renaissance design dining chairs have hand carved Mouth of Truth faces, after the famous marble mask in Rome, said to bite the hand of those who lied.
- Italian antique 1900s furniture
- Ancient "Bocca delle Verita" or "Mouth of Truth" sculpture is outside the Santa Maria in Cosmedin Church
- Hand carved of solid oak
- Original finish has been waxed and buffed, preserving minor mars. All that is needed to maintain the soft luster is an occasional wipe with a soft, dry cloth.
- Shrinkage separations from age - see photos
- New genuine buffalo leather upholstery
- 2 armchairs & 6 side chairs
Armchair size is 26.5" wide, 21" deep and 41" tall. Seats are 18" deep and 21.5" high with arms 29" high.
Side chair size is 21.5" wide, 19" deep and 41" tall. Seats are 15" deep and 21" high.
