Pine Trunk or Chest, Dated 1871 Waterwitch Ship Hand Painting

Dated "1871," this hand crafted pine trunk or blanket chest has hand painting depicting the ship "Waterwitch." The finish is in very fine condition on this antique furniture from England.

Corners and the drawer have hand cut dovetail joints. There is a working key for the lid lock, no key for the drawer. Hardware is hand wrought and original, feet and painting appear later. Inside is a covered compartment for valuables.

Dimensions are 44" long, 25" deep and 24 1/2" tall including the feet, which could be removed if desired.
