Schoolmaster Oak 1890 Antique Desk, Inkwell

Crafted of solid oak about 1890 for a schoolmaster, this desk has a slanted lift lid with storage underneath. The original finish has charming wear and stains for antique character. Waxed and buffed, only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain its warm patina.

Two drawers have carved pulls on this American made antique furniture. Galleries left and right held books, there is an inkwell in a socket. The slanted surface slopes up from 24" high at the front, so this nostalgic desk was probably used either with a stool or standing.

Measurements are 42" wide, 25" deep and 36" tall.
