A signed "Sonora" wind up phonograph or record player works beautifully. The original signature label inside includes "Gold Medal Winner at the Panama Pacific Exhibition in 1915," the San Diego World's Fair.
The mahogany case has dramatic Art Nouveau "bombe" curves and an excellent finish. Nickel hardware is all original, the tone is warm and full. A few standard 78 rpm records are included.
The wind up motor has been serviced and lubricated, plus a new mainspring was installed. There is an adjustable governor speed control, plus volume knob on the left side.
Measurements of this boldly designed American antique furniture are 22" wide excluding the removable crank, 22" deep and 46" tall.
