This late Victorian or Eastlake period swivel desk chair was carved of solid cherry. The cast iron swivel mechanism has adjustable tilt and height, and is signed "Johnson Chair Co., Pat. Dec. 20, 1887."
The restored finish is in excellent condition, preserving just enough losses, stains and mars for a little antique character. The base is oak, new natural saddle leather upholstery has brass nailhead trim. Ball bearing wheels are modern replacements.
Measurements are 21 1/2" wide, 24" deep, 39 1/2" tall and the seat is 20" high at the lowest, adjustable upward.
