A prestigious late Victorian or Eastlake period chest or dresser with marble top would serve as an enchanting vanity cabinet for a vessel sink.
Carved of solid walnut about 1880, there is a swivel mirror above. Heavy weight cast brasses are original, there are accent panels of burl walnut and the lustrous finish is excellent. Drawers are dovetailed, the center jewelry drawer locks and is opened only with a key.
Antique American furniture, there is incised or "spoon" carving, characteristic of the period. Brownish "Tennessee Red" marble is also original and in very fine condition.
Size of this historic chest and mirror is 50 1/2" wide, 24" deep, 6'6" tall and the marble top is 30" high.
