Six matching armchairs from about 1900 were used in a firehouse, and have their original labels signed "Phoenix Chair Co., Sheboygan, Wis." Carved of solid ash and elm hardwoods, the gleaming golden finish is excellent.
These rugged and wiggle-free chairs have just enough mars and wear for a little antique character. Large and comfortable with sculpted seats, wide arms, flat spindles and a curved back, this is straightforward American made furniture.
Measurements are 22" wide, 23" deep, 41" tall, arms are 26" tall and seats are 18" high.
