Victorian 1850's Antique Sewing Thread Box, Pin Cushion

A sweet little Victorian 1850's sewing thread box is mahogany and pine with a nice old finish and inlaid stringing. On the top is a pincushion.

The lid lifts off to a compartment for spools of thread that pull through ivory "portholes" in the sides. A pull out shelf has a tilting frame, we don't know its purpose - probably small needlework. There are mars to the finish plus a loss to the lid of this American made antique.

Overall size is 7" wide, 5 1/2" deep and 7" tall.
