A small "six board" document or treasure chest was hand hewn of solid oak about 1760 in England, and hand carved with traditional Celtic motifs. Every surface is hand planed and irregular. The custom stand was carved about 125 years ago.
The old finish is very well preserved, and has been waxed and buffed. There are cut nails and shrinkage separations from age. Wrought iron hardware is original, the lock is missing on this antique furniture.
Measurements are 26" long, 14" deep and 26" tall, including the separate base.
