This working bellows was crafted about 1870 for a blacksmith shop, and is signed by the makers "Alldays & Onion, Birmingham."
Made of ash hardwood, saddle leather and wrought iron mounts, the antique bellows still works. There are repairs and wear to the old leather, the finish is in very good condition.
The salvaged bellows was mounted on a substantial oak pedestal base with carved claw feet about 25 years ago.
Used as a wine tasting table, the base could be removed if desired to lower to coffee table height.
Overall dimensions of this rustic country furniture from England are 70" long, 35" wide, 42" tall and the table top is 35" high.
