Federal Mahogany Secretary Desk, Tambour Doors 1940s

This classic Federal design secretary desk has a flip-front writing surface and tambour sliding doors above. The mahogany finish is excellent, and there is an intricate marquetry medallion on the center door. Brass pulls and feet are original. This very simple yet elegant vintage furniture dates from the early 1940's.

There are pull out supports for the desk area, and both dovetailed lower drawers have matched flame grain mahogany with slight but stable irregularities - see photos. Every aspect of this desk has superior workmanship, measurements are 3' wide, 19" deep, 43" tall, and writing area is 29" above the floor. U-D1616
