A French "bergere" has hand made green needlepoint upholstery with intricate pettipoint panels and very little wear. This armchair dates from the 1930's.
The gracefully carved fruitwood frame is tight and solid, it has its original finish in very fine condition.
This solid and sturdy chair has very little padding under the needlepoint on the back and as a result there is a tear in the top left corner, see photo. Springs on this antique furniture from France are firm and supportive.
Size is 24" wide, 25" deep, 33" tall and the seat is 16" high.
