French Provincial Antique 1760 Chestnut Armoire

Authentic French country or provincial furniture from about 1760, this charming rustic armoire is solid chestnut and oak. It has quite a few worm holes which are consistent with the age, see photos.

Rough hewn with raised panels and carved wooden pegs, the wonderful old finish has warm antique patina. The wrought iron lock and key still work, lift off hinges are original. The crown and feet have been restored.

Raised panels are all hand chamfered. Inside is one removable shelf, more shelves or a closet pole could be added if desired.

This enchanting furniture from northern France has loads of character - there are stains, losses and shrinkage separations from age. Dimensions are 51" wide, 21" deep and 74" tall.
