Wonderful Yankee craftsmanship in solid cherry makes this 1830's New England bed a classic. Adapted to fit a standard modern queen bedding as shown, there is a pallet or platform added to support the mattress.
Dramatic deeply turned 5' diameter posts are single cherry wood logs. The gleaming finish is excellent with glowing patina and a few mars to show its age. Oval cast brass bolt covers could be original.
Dimensions of this historic American antique furniture are 7 1/2' long, 4'10" wide, posts are 7'5" tall including the removable finials - it could be fitted with a canopy.
