Hand made in New England about 1800, a classic Hepplewhite table is wonderful. Solid walnut, there are carved wooden pegs securing the joints, hand cut nails are visible on the top.
The finish is very fine with warm antique patina and lots of charming character - stains, wear and mars. On the top is a separation due to shrinkage from age, there is a beautiful knot in the wider board. The strong but delicate frame reflects the clean lines of the period.
This country table measures 37" long, 23" wide, 28" tall and legroom underneath is 23" high.
