Spanish Carved Leather Antique Campaign Chair

Carved of solid walnut in the mid 1800's, this regal armchair has a saddle leather seat with large embossed brass nailheads.

Traditional hand-crafted "campaign" furniture, this portable chair can be unbolted with a little effort, the iron bar on the back unhooked, and this chair would fold to transport for a military officer in the field.

There is wonderful antique patina, stains and wear on the leather and shrinkage cracks from age on the frame. Strong and very usable, the frame has an original finish in remarkably fine condition.

Measurements of this imposing Spanish antique are 26" wide, 24" deep, 44" tall and the seat is 17" high.
