A renowned Steinway Model "M" grand piano was completely rebuilt by prominent Chicago dealer, "Kurt Saphir," about 20 years ago, refinished and had a "PianoDisc" player and recorder system installed. The similar bench has storage under the seat, which is newly upholstered.
The hand rubbed satin ebony finish is in very fine condition with various minor dings and touchups on this antique piano, see photos. There are small chips to the white keys as shown.
Sound is rich and full, everything was rebuilt and this is basically a new musical instrument in a 1922 case, conserving the superior wood and construction of an antique instrument. Rebuilding and refinishing cost in excess of $15,000, a new Model M is over $63,000 today.
The "PianoDisc" programmable player has adjustable sound and tone, and comes with five discs of music. More are widely available for this system, which now costs about $6000 installed.
Piano dimensions are 58" wide, 5' 7" long and 39" tall with the wing closed. Bench size is 38" long, 16" wide and 19" tall.
