Victorian Bronze Gong, Oak Stand

A marvelous Victorian era bronze gong has a powerful deep tone and is set in its original oak stand. There is a leather mallet with bamboo handle to ring the gong, which has wonderful resonant "echoes."
The arched frame has hand-carved paw feet, the original finish is very fine with warm patina.
An authentic antique from about 1890, this picturesque gong is probably English.
A pleasant way for summoning diners, size of the gong is 17" diameter and over 3" deep, the frame is 25" wide, 13" deep and 41" tall.
