Victorian Needlepoint Fire Screen Depicting Jesus
An authentic Victorian fireplace screen was carved of solid mahogany and has a hand-made needlepoint and petitpoint scene depicting Jesus. Used as a screen to control radiant heat from a fireplace, this exquisite antique is English.
The strong frame is hand-carved and pierced and has its original finish from about 1880, which is in remarkably fine condition. There is very little fading on the vivid Biblical tableau which is under glass.
Dimensions of this charming fireplace antique are 27" wide, 18" deep and 46" tall.
