Gold Empire Antique Mantel or Hall Mirror
The classical detail and richly burnished original gold finish are stunning on this Empire mantel or hall mirror from about 1900. There are only minor mars to the detailed frame with decorative balls under a sculpted crown and a center swag.
The original plate glass has just enough "smoke" to show its age. Probably crafted in Europe, the hand carved detail on triple swagged columns is truly palatial.
Measurements are 43" wide, 6" deep and 69 1/2" tall.
