A wonderful corner cupboard was hand crafted about 1830 of solid curly or tiger grain maple, and is said to be from New England.
The glowing finish is in very fine condition with golden patina allowing the natural grain to shimmer. There are mars and wear for antique character on this American made furniture.
On the backside is an inscription "Refinished in Lake Zurich, Il, 1970." Old wavy glass panes are beautiful in the doors, joints have wooden pegs. The right lower door is warped from age, see photos. Hand planing marks and square nails are authentic. Lower door panels are hand chamfered, drawers have hand cut dovetails.
Measurements are 57" wide tip to tip across the front, 6' 6" tall and the side or radius from the back corner to the front tip is 43."
