Norwegian Immigrant 1860's Antique Pine Trunk or Blanket Chest, Signed Minnesota

Hand crafted in Norway this pine dome top trunk or blanket chest was made for an immigrant who was headed for "Clear Water (?), Minnesota America. Her name on the chest is "Ida Thomasson?".

The original inscription in well worn paint has been preserved with clear varnish. Authentic details in solid pine include hand cut dovetail corner joints, wooden pegs and hand planing marks. Inside is a small compartment with a lid for valuables. The lock has no key on this picturesque antique.

Measurements are 40" long, 20" deep and 20" tall.
