Swedish Antique Secretary Desk, Hand Carved & Painted Family Crest #31631

This remarkable secretary desk was hand crafted of solid ash and oak for an aristocratic Swedish family's country manor house about 1900. Their coat of arms is handcarved into the front and accented with hand painting. Themes from the family crest are also masterfully chiseled into both outer side panels. An engraved signature reads, "CWP & Sons, Acht."

Hand wrought iron hardware is original, mortise and tenon joints are authentic. Drawers have hand cut dovetail joints, lower doors are curved.

The restored finish is in excellent condition on this antique furniture. Wooden knobs and pegs on the sides secure the lid closed, inside are tiny cubicles for papers.

Dimensions are 48" wide tip to tip, 22" deep, 46 1/2" tall and the desktop is 31" high.
