Carved French 1900 Bedroom Set, Queen Size Bed & Armoire

This splendid bedroom set was hand carved about 1900 in France, and includes a queen size bed and armoire.

The original finish is in very fine condition, waxed and buffed, only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain its warm patina. There are minor mars, irregularities and losses for antique character, see photos.

This historic bed has been fitted with steel rails to accommodate a standard queen size mattress and spring unit 20" tall together as shown. Wood cross slats underneath are included. The three dimensional crest and diamond matched panels are beautiful on this lovely furniture.

Measurements are 61" wide, 90" long, the headboard is 67" tall and the footboard is 37" high.

The matching armoire has original shaped and beveled mirror doors. Interior shelves adjust on wooden supports. The crest was apparently shortened and the later working lock is signed "Paris."

Measurements are 56" wide, 25" deep and 90" tall, interior depth is 15."
