Jasper Signed Vintage Cherry Secretary Desk & Bookcase, Secret Compartments

Signed by famous maker, "Jasper," a magnificent traditional Georgian style secretary desk has a bookcase top. Solid cherry, the original finish is in superb condition on this American made vintage furniture from about 25 years ago.

When the locking drop front is opened, supports extend automatically. The writing surface has gold tooled leather. Inside are secret drawers plus another secret locking compartment behind the inlaid marquetry door. The lighted upper display cabinet or bookcase has convex glass and grillwork, adjustable glass shelves and locking doors. Heavy weight brasses are original. Dovetailed drawers have "oxbow" shaped fronts. Carved claw and ball feet plus the carved pediment are authentic.

Dimensions are 40" wide, 21" deep, the desktop is 30 1/2" high and height is 86 1/2" overall.
