This large counter was made for an architect to store and work on drawings, it would be a wonderful gift wrapping station or kitchen island.
The original blue paint is worn, and the poplar hardwood shows through with a very fine satiny finish. Charming wear and mars make for nostalgic patina on this American antique from about 1915. Signed by "Hamilton of Two Rivers, Wis." a famous maker of architect's and printer's cabinetry, the burnished nickel feet and pulls are original.
Both sides are identically configured, each with a huge pivoting drawer fitted for rolls of paper drawings. Upper drawers have dovetailed sides. Size of this extremely rugged furniture is 5' long, 43" wide and 35" tall.
