Carved of walnut about 1910 in northern Italy, a library set includes a table or writing desk, triple bookcase, open bookcase and two leather armchairs.
Desk and low bookcase tops have been revarnished for durability, bases have their original finish in very fine condition. Waxed and buffed, only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain the warm antique patina.
Classical fluted motifs are understated on this furniture from Europe.
The desk has a banded top and two drawers with hand cut dovetail joints and original working locks and escutcheons. Measurements are 59" long, 30" deep, 31" tall and legroom is 24 1/2" underneath.
Three doors on the large bookcase have glass panes and original working locks and hardware. Measurements are 68 1/2" wide, 19" deep and 76 1/2" tall.
The open bookcase has three shelves and measurements are 59" wide, 15" deep and 49" tall.
A pair of library armchairs have original leather backs, comfortable seats have been newly upholstered in natural saddle leather using original brass nailhead trim. Frames have their original finish and hand carved details, both are strong and tight. Size is 27" wide, 23" deep, 42" tall and seats are 19" high.
