Originally made for a school chemistry lab about 1900, an oak double desk or counter could also be a work island, vessel sink vanity or TV console.
Solid oak with a hard maple top, this rugged furniture has its original hardware and finish, it has been re-varnished several times over the years, and has loads of antique character - mars, stains and even graffiti in the drawers. The top has a worn black finish.
Sealed for durability, the finish is in very fine condition, including the paneled backside. Drawers are dovetailed.
This American made counter, which reflects Arts and Crafts period design, could be raised with feet if desired. Measurements of this well worn desk are 6' long, 22" deep and 30" tall, the kneeholes are 19" wide and 24" high.
