Well worn and with beautiful patina, this oak dropleaf gateleg dining table dates from the 1700's. It is solid oak joined with carved wooden pegs, every surface has the irregularity that show hand craftsmanship.
There have been numerous repairs and touchups over the centuries, see photos. The finish is very fine with warm antique patina and loads of character. At one end is a drawer that was rebuilt long ago.
Still strong and usable, this English antique furniture conjures visions of a cozy country manor. This table would also work very well as a sofa or buffet table.
Measurements when the dropleaves are down are 48" long, 21" wide and 29" tall. With both dropleaves raised, size is 48" x 59."
