An outstanding Victorian "C" curve quarter-sawn oak rolltop desk has warm deep color and patina. The finish is excellent, with just enough character and mars to show its age.
The roll operates smoothly, inside are cubicles, tiny drawers and letter holders on the sides. Brass label holders are original from about 1900. Two banks of deep drawers have dovetailed joinery, there is a large file drawer and two pull-out shelves.
Paneled and finished all around, this antique furniture shows superior American craftsmanship from about 1900.
The upper section is removable for easier moving. Size is 5' long, 34" deep, 41" tall, the writing surface is 30" high and the generous kneehole is 25" wide and over 24" tall.
