This vibrant mahogany game table has a flip and swivel top and dates from the American Empire period, about 1840. The solid mahogany top is beautifully figured, and the classical lyre form base has matched flame grain mahogany.
The lustrous finish is excellent, and this furniture is useful against a wall as a console table, with the lid raised or down. There are inlaid corners inside when the table is opened to game size. This is very sound and usable, and there are small losses and mars to the edges of the base.
Measurements of this elegant antique when closed are 35" wide, 18" deep and 29" tall, opened size is 35" square and 28" tall for playing games.
