This "bombe" or convex shaped antique chest or dresser is also called a "commode." It has magnificent diagonally matched mahogany with rosewood and satinwood inlaid marquetry. The lustrous finish is in superb condition with wonderful deep rich patina, there are small separations from age to the right of the drawers, see photos.
Cast brass pulls and mounts are original from the 1930's. The richly grained famous "Rouge" marble top is excellent with a small chip on the left side. Drawer sides have hand-cut dovetails.
Robust and very usable furniture, this graceful chest would be beautiful in almost any room. Dimensions are 35" wide, 16" deep, and 34" tall.
