Carved of solid birch hardwood about 1885, this architectural salvage fireplace mantel has an excellent finish.
Carving is artistic. There are shrinkage separations from age on this American made antique, see photos.
Overall size is 64 1/2" wide, 11 1/2" deep and 48" tall. The fire opening is 36" wide and 36" tall.
