Carved French Queen Size 3 Pc. 1895 Antique Bedroom Set

Magnificently hand carved in France about 1895, this three piece bedroom set includes a bed adapted to queen size, marble top nightstand and a double armoire.

Walnut with matched panels, the satiny finish is in excellent condition. Waxed and polished, only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to preserve its antique patina. Graceful curves and exquisite detailing are beautiful.

The bed has been adapted with steel rails and mounting plates to fit a standard queen size spring and mattress as shown in photos. Bedding is 20" high and wood slats underneath are furnished.

The bed measures 66" wide, 90" long, the head board is 69" tall and the foot board is 40" high.

A shaped marble top nightstand has been polished and sealed to resist stains. Below a hand dovetailed drawer is a marble lined compartment. Finished on all sides, measurements are 16" square and 33 1/2" tall.

A spectacular crest surmounts the double armoire which has shaped and beveled mirrored doors with a little golden "smoke" and silvering losses for character, see photos. The interior is birdseye maple and oak, shelves adjust on wooden supports.

This armoire can be disassembled for moving, size is 65" wide, 21" deep and 8' 6" tall.
