Carved Oak 1890 French Antique Collector Cabinet or Jewelry Chest

Hand carved in France of solid oak about 1890, this wonderful collector cabinet or jewelry chest has seven tiny drawers and a cabinet with shelves above.

Hand carved details are charming, drawers have hand cut dovetail joints and every piece is hand planed. The original finish is very well preserved, waxed and buffed, only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain its antique patina.

Brass hardware is original, the key is a handle only, the lock does not work. The "bombe" base is well proportioned on this European treasure box.

Measurements are 17" wide, 7" deep and 29 1/2" tall.
