Signed by famed maker, "Chelsea," this mantel clock from the 1920's with bronze ram's heads is all original and keeps excellent time.
"Chelsea" of Boston was founded in 1897, and was famed for its nautical designs and ship clocks for the US Navy. These top of the line clocks were owned by everyone from Presidents including Nixon to Aristotle Onassis.
This clock has a brass movement that runs one week on a winding and has been professionally cleaned and oiled. A strike on the hour and half sounds like the ship's bell clocks that Chelsea is famous for.
The mahogany case has original painting in extremely fine condition, the bronze ram's head feet are patinated. A beveled glass protects the dial, the key appears original on this historic timepiece.
