A hand hewn temple door from Sumatra in the former Dutch West Indies dates from the mid 1800's and rests on a modern iron frame for use as a coffee table.
Rough sawn, there are artistic and charming folk carved panels. This rustic architectural salvage door still has one hinge pivot peg at the bottom, where it turned in a socket hole of a stone threshold.
There are losses, separations and lots of country character on this well worn antique pegged and mortised door. Wormy hardwood has great color, panels are hand chamfered on the back side. The top has a satiny finish so it is easy to wipe and clean.
Custom welded, the rugged natural iron base is recent. Measurements are 69" long, 40" wide, 2 1/2" thick and height is almost 20."
