This very charming country French wall clock is a great runner, and has a beautiful brass repousse dial surround and pendulum. Often called a "wag-on-the-wall, " the Morbier movement is a traditional farmhouse classic from about 1880.
The 8 day movement has been professionally cleaned and oiled, and repeats its hourly strike, just in case you weren't paying attention the first time. Surrounded by hand-hammered brass with hand painted highlights, the porcelain dial is in excellent condition. The signature and name of the town are unfortunately worn and illegible, see photos.
Behind the deeply embossed pendulum are recast iron weights. Modern steel brackets make wall mounting fairly easy.
This charming Victorian era clock is characteristic of the south of France, and measures 14" wide, 4' 9" tall including the pendulum and 7" deep.
