An authentic Empire period antique from about 1820, this solid cherry chest of drawers or dresser has matched flame grain mahogany down the drawerfronts and large cherry knobs.
Entirely hand-made in New England, the drawers have chamfered walnut bottoms and joints with beautiful hand-cut dovetails. The paneled back is hand-planed, expert Yankee workmanship is evident throughout this American antique furniture.
The gleaming finish is superb, showing the shimmering grain to advantage, and the large drawers fit and slide well. There is a repair to the front right corner and minor mars to the edges, but condition is remarkable for its age.
Measurements of this classic chest are 44" wide, 21" deep and 47" tall.
