Looking as though it came straight from a dining hall of Henry VIII's English country manor house, this magnificent carved oak dining set was actually made in Sheboygan, WI about 1925! This set includes a table with pull-out leaves, 8 chairs including 2 armchairs, a china cabinet, large sideboard, and huntboard or small server.
The deeply carved Renaissance motifs and "linenfold" panels are authentic, the rich brown finish is superb, and all 8 chair seats have been newly upholstered in soft leather. The original craftsmen gently rounded the corners, and brasses were hand-hammered to give the look of centuries ago. All pieces are remarkably solid and generously constructed. Brass plaques in the dovetailed drawers are signed "Northern Furniture, Sheboygan, WI."
The table measures 42" wide, 30" tall and has 24" of legroom, closed size is 6 1/2' long, with both self-storing draw leaves extended, length is 10'8" total.
Both large armchairs have tapestry backs and leather seats, and are 25" wide, 26" deep and 42" tall. All 6 leather side chairs are 25" wide, 26" deep and 42" tall.
China cabinet measurements are 45" wide, 19" deep and 4'10" tall. The large sideboard or server has 2 velvet lined silverware drawers, and is 5'11" long, 24" deep and 38" tall. The huntboard or small server was traditionally used for a cold supper buffet of cheeses and smoked meat and salmon after a day of hunting, and is also useful for drinks or dessert. Size is 3 1/2' long, 21" deep and 35" tall.
