Quimper traditional pottery from the northwest corner of France celebrates the folk tradition of the Breton people of Brittany or Bretagne province, once a separate country with its own language.
Their picturesque costumes are depicted in handpainted scenes on this charmingly rustic pottery. There are irregularities as expected in the hand-glazing, but we see no damage to this wonderful genuine signed Quimper piece.
This lovely hand painted large serving plate measures 12 1/2" in diameter.
