A small Japanese "kanto naga Hibachi" brazier from the early 1900's is solid curly maple and elm with a copper lining, nice for beverages. Originally, a small charcoal fire was used for cooking, making tea and heating sake wine.
Drawers for towels, tea leaves and dried seaweed were built with wooden pegs. Corner joints have hand cut dovetail joints and wooden pegs. The copper lining has nice antique patina, see photos, and could be fitted with a piece of glass if desired to use as a coffee table.
The restored finish is in excellent condition on this Asian antique furniture. There are shrinkage separations from age, see photos.
Size is 33" long, 25" wide and 13 1/2" tall.
