A sweet 1880's lift top desk was called a "Davenport" after its inventor and also a "ship captain's" desk because of its highly functional small "footprint" on board.
Solid oak with spiral columns, the finish is in excellent condition on this American made antique furniture. Side drawers have original brass and iron pulls with round "pin and cove" dovetail joinery of the era. There is an upper gallery for books.
Size is 23" wide, 24" deep, 38" tall and the top slopes up from 30" high at the front edge.
