An exceptional solid oak architectural salvage fireplace mantel is an original antique from about 1880. This unusual design illustrates the work of famed Chicago architect Richardson, the style was called "Richardsonian Romanesque."
The original finish is very well preserved with small mars and wear for antique character, the top mantel shelf has been rebuilt and varnished.
Preserved from a Chicago mansion, measurements are 59 1/2" wide, 13" deep and 47 1/2" tall, the fire opening is 35 1/2" wide and 36" tall.
