Pewter Hanging or Standing 1800's Whale Oil Lamp

Resembling an Aladdin lamp, this pewter lamp from the early 1800's has a base to stand on a table plus a hook and chain to hang.
Using a simple wick made from a rag, this antique lamp would burn almost any oil or grease, but expensive whale oil burned brightest and cleanest.
Attached with a chain is a small hook to adjust the wick. There are lots of dings and dents for antique character on this American hand made light, which is 6 1/2" tall excluding the hanging hook and chain.
