Quimper traditional pottery from the northwest corner of France celebrates the folk tradition of the Breton people of Brittany or Bretagne province, once a separate country with its own language.
Their picturesque costumes are depicted in handpainted scenes on this charmingly rustic pottery. There are irregularities as expected in the hand-glazing, but we see no damage to these wonderful genuine signed Quimper pieces. These 2 soup plates measure 9 1/2" in diameter and almost 2" tall.
