Dating from about 1870, this looking glass or mirror with reverse painting echoes an earlier style. The old finish is very well preserved on the mahogany frame, which has acorn finials below the crown.
There is touchup to the reverse painting on glass, see photos. "Smoke" on the beveled glass mirror shows its age. Square nailheads are visible on this American antique. Size is 21" wide, 3" deep and 39" tall.
