An extraordinary walnut backbar or sideboard cabinet has remarkably detailed carving and wrought iron locks. The hardware is hand engraved, recalling suits of armor, and the elaborate working locks and keys recall centuries earlier. The drawers in the middle section add character to this unique piece. Intricate workmanship is as exceptional as would be expected of Swiss master craftsmen. The finish is mostly original from the 1870's.
Warm patina accentuates the spiral columns and deep moldings. There are minor shrinkage separations on this historic antique - see photos.
Drawers have hand-cut dovetails, there is a pull-out shelf. Useful as a wine tasting cabinet, dimensions of this sophisticated furniture are 6'8" wide, 27" deep and 7'9" tall.
