Salvaged from a temple in Thailand or Cambodia, this pair of carved doors and doorway surround are hand-carved teak. Old worn paint and wrought iron mounts are original. There is a brass knocker.
Probably from the mid 1800's, the artistic hand carved detailing is beautiful. Well worn and weathered, this entry is structurally sound. The doors originally opened on wooden pivots, they could be mounted on hinges if desired.
This is very heavy, teak is one of the few hardwoods so heavy it does not float on water. The wonderful patina and character of this architectural ensemble is exquisite, and would be nice for a dungeon. Oh my!
Doors are 6' 4" tall, over 3" thick and 20" and 23" wide. The frame is 4' 9" wide, 6' 11" tall and 8" deep.
